Farm has improved its productivity, and proudly hosted a field day organised by the County Government of Kisumu
Immaculate Ajwang Owiti, aged 72, is a member of Emmanuel Chemelil FFS, Maseno East Diocese. She owns 1 acre and has a household of 8 members. On her farm, she grows maize, beans and local vegetables. She also keeps cows, sheep, chickens and one fish pond. Her quarter-acre maize plot has increased yield from 2 to 4 bags since joining FFS. She attributes this to the use of compost manure and certified seed. Her farm has improved its productivity, and last year she was proud to host a field day organised by the County Government of Kisumu. She has also trained 6 neighbours on new farming techniques.
Immaculate says that Kingdom Life has changed her life – she is one of the Lay Readers in her local Church, ACK St. Christopher’s Apondo. She also shares the Kingdom Life Bible Study with her family for spiritual nourishment. Her main challenge is waterlogging during floods, which she controls by digging ditches to drain off excess water.
