A Kenyan Executive Team who oversee the running of the Farm Schools and all the on-the-ground operations in Kenya,

An experienced Board of Directors who work pro bono and so keep overheads low.

On-the-ground teams in Kenya, Haiti and Uganda, who facilitate the Farm Schools and work with local churches.

Kenyan Leadership Team

Dr Rael Taiy

Rael Taiy was born in Nandi County, Kenya. She is a professional agriculturalist with wide experience in crop and livestock production extension, environmental conservation, climate change adaptation and mitigation, developing gender sensitive value chains, programme planning and implementation, monitoring and evaluation as well as qualitative and quantitative research. She holds BSc, Msc and PhD from Egerton University (Kenya) and post graduate qualifications from Israel, the People’s Republic of China and Egypt. In 1986-2019, Rael worked for the Kenyan Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries and has received several awards and certificates of recognition. Currently she is the Director of Agronomy, Just Earth.

Philip Amoi

Philip Amoi is the Operations Director of Just Earth Kenya. With a passion for God, family and community, Philip oversees small scale farmers on their path to food security and spiritual growth through the work of Just Earth, and is dedicated to transforming lives through work alongside local churches.

Trustees & Directors

Rev. Bruce Collins

Rev. Bruce Collins worked in major industrial and marketing companies before he was ordained in the Church of England in 1983. He has church-planted and led a large London Team Ministry. Since 1995 he has travelled to speak in many countries and helped develop ecumenical networks of churches in several nations. He is a founder-director of Just Earth.

Alex Lloyd Davies

Alex Lloyd Davies is Chair of Just Earth. She is an experienced business leader with 25 years in marketing, sales and commercial leadership experience, from P&G and Kellogg to start-ups and charities. She currently runs two companies focused on building up and supporting SMEs and social entrepreneurs. Alex has been involved with Just Earth since 2007 and is passionate about the charity and its whole-life focus for individuals and communities.

Gerwyn Miles

Gerwyn Miles has been a Trustee of Just Earth since 2017, and is responsible for the overall financial management of the charity. His background is in both the accountancy profession and in industry, and he has served as a Finance Director in public, private and third sector organisations, as well as being a local church leader. He is passionate that the poor and the needy should be “seen” and given opportunity to improve their lives and works through Just Earth to address issues of people and their family circumstances, bringing hope and dignity to those who are often neglected.

Rev. Evelyn Lee-Barber

Evelyn Lee-Barber is an ordained priest in the Church of England, working as Associate Priest at Bath Abbey. She brings a wealth of experience having been a joint franchisee of an award winning franchise, ran her own successful management development consultancy working with many FTSE 100 companies, and having ten foundational years of experience in HR with Bass plc. She holds degrees in Hotel and Accommodation Studies, Contextual Theology and an MA in Christian Leadership. She also works for her local diocese supporting the development of priests in training.

Pete Tyler

Pete Tyler is the CEO of the team which leads the ministry and organisation of Just Earth. As an Accountant, Pete worked for many years in industry, before changing focus to become a church leader, which along with Just Earth, now occupies much of his time. Beyond Just Earth, Pete acts as a Non-Executive Director of an Aim Listed Company, and is passionate about God, family, community and working to support the poor.

David Cross

A director of Just Earth since 2012, David Cross has spent most of his working life in sales and marketing at senior manager/director level, working with major companies including Procter and Gamble, Glaxo, and Polycell. More recently, David has worked as a business advisor both independently and as a part of the UK government’s 'Growth Accelerator' scheme. A committed Christian, David has also held a variety of leadership roles in different churches and currently holds the title of Chair of Trustees for Enfield Vineyard Church.

Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit

Jackson Nasoore Ole Sapit was elected Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya in July 2916. He was previously the first Bishop of the newly-created Diocese of Kericho, and oversaw the launch of the first Just Earth Farm Schools in his Diocese. As an enthusiastic supporter of Just Earth, he has been encouraging his fellow Bishops to welcome its work in their Dioceses.

Bishop Philip Kitoto Sabwa

Bishop Philip Kitoto Sabwa is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God - Kenya. His career before ordination includes serving as an Electronic Engineer, Technical Teacher and Departmental head of a school. Ordained at International Christian Centre in Nairobi, he rose to become its Senior Pastor from 2007 to 2017. During his time the church grew from one location to 5 locations in Nairobi. He also helped plant a church in Mombasa and Dubai. From 2018, Bishop Kitoto was elected to serve as the General Superintendent of Kenya Assemblies of God. He also currently serves as the Chancellor of KAG East University.

Rev. Dr. Stephen Hance

The Rev. Dr. Stephen Hance is the Anglican Dean of Toronto and Rector of St James Toronto. He was previously Evangelism and Mission Lead for the Church of England and Dean of Derby Cathedral. Stephen has been involved with the work of Just Earth for over 15 years and was born in Kisumu, Kenya.

Michael Plaut OBE

Michael Plaut OBE is a businessman based in Wales. He is a former Chair CBI Wales. He was appointed OBE for services to business and entrepreneurship. Michael is a member of the Greater Chapter and a Lay Canon of Llandaff Cathedral and a founder, and former Chair, of New Wine Cymru / Wales. He has been a longstanding supporter of Just Earth and is a member of its International Advisory Board.
